It is all-encompassing. Usually, morality is associated with ethnicity or geography. But I feel that what you are saying is what we need: to see what we have in common, even if that commonality is simply being human.

Growing Alone is great, but we can't discount the absolute /wonder/ that it is to grow /with/ someone,to have commonality that stretches beyond simple chemistry and into enriching each other beyond what one could accomplish alone.
I've had that recently, I truly have.

It's a forest for the trees thing. The EU does have generally more strict food regulations and the current administration isn't doing food quality any favors but higher quality food will always exist. As stated you just gotta go to it - any reduction to commonality will yield inferior products.

so we may not share an account of the observer, but i think a commonality is that we agree that a human is not a resource for someone else’s design. i can live with that without drilling down into whether it's because of some sort of essence or convention.

Like all words its a simplification and a shorthand, but "West" does describe a set of European colonialist norms that that aren't uniform, but are definitely a commonality across a lot of Europe, Northern American and Australia, and it is a term that has use in that context.
