Fun Fact: EVERYONE would benefit from better documentation and clearer communication in the workplace.
I cannot emphasized enough how much waste is generated in offices due to a lack of these two things.

Autistic people also need better workplace support. The entire workplace accommodations model is still built around physical/static disabilities. Autistic workers need free and simple but systemic improvements. Better documentation, clearer communication, the opportunity to use their strengths.

This is another reason alt text is important. Muted word lists apply to alt text as well as post text. #CurbCut

It’s been a horrific week here in the Twin Cities. So at risk of being accused of a humblebrag, I just want to shout out the Xcel Energy Bobcat driver who, seeing me tonight hacking away at a neighbor’s curb-cut iceberg, took 30secs out of his repair work to bust up one entire curbcut for me. 🙏🏽🤌🏽💥

I think adopting a VMT reduction target would help nudge commissioners & staff toward a bigger picture mindset. Rather than considering decisions about every parking lot, curbcut, bus stop, & bike lane in isolation, we should think bigger about our cumulative climate obligations

Side note: The continuous pavement without a curbcut is nice. 👍
It doesn’t need to be complicated. Give buses their own space and signals, and keep families on bikes or scooters separate.
Safer for them, and buses can keep to schedule.

Most of my several hundred 311 reports of pictures of my household member using disability equipment unable to get anywhere because of cars parked across every curbcut in the Roxbury Crossing neighborhood are still sitting open. A few were closed with “noted.” It’s still not any safer for them.

On top of that, weeds are overgrowing the sidewalk and there's a pile of dirt on the curbcut at PB.
Did you all not know the state fair was happening? It's the largest pedestrian event in the country?

Once again on Archer Avenue, where the quarter mile between the 35th/Archer Orange Ljne Station and double-wide Western Blvd has no crosswalks.
Right in the middle, a grocery store. Of course someone was going to cross here, but IDOT has decided they don’t matter enough.

I didn't get to hit all of 14th st last night but after this rain its not looking great for this portion of bike lane. Whoever designed this put a drain in the middle of the bike path & during the day it was clogged n flooded. Its a mess and a danger to bike/walk through & inaccessible!

Like. I know their entire shtick is "This forces people to learn to use a fountain pen properly" but that has the curbcut effect of "I can actually hold this with my disabled hands".

I wrote to Epicurean Feast Cafe a week ago about parking across a crosswalk and curbcut at Roxbury Community College and asked how they would be addressing their employees blocking disability infrastructure and endangering pedestrians. No response.

Extremely robust and well designed Shiny app from Curbcut, making massive amounts of local city data accessible via maps. They dealt with performance issues partly by pre-computing data for every city block 🤯 and storing those in .qs files, as well as rendering pre-generated Mapbox vector tiles. 1/2
