#Data-Regulation
Who could have seen this coming? Elon’sTesla has opposed a federal regulation requiring the reporting of car crashes. Now the Trump transition team does too. Because why would we need to have data on crashes of self-driving cars?. www.thedailybeast.com//tesla-trump...
Tesla, Trump Transition Team Both Oppose Car Crash Reporting Regulation
According to Reuters, the transition team felt the regulation meant “excessive” data was collected.

In between the stories of horrific human rights abuses and trade war insanity I remember that they have also destroyed all our research and data infrastructure and effectively ended any environmental, health, or labor regulation.

AI regulation will achieve nothing of significance unless there is a clear and enforceable regulation around training data transparency

Gov. Abbott and his allies have long touted cheap electricity, no corporate income taxes, low state regulation, and weak local governments to attract businesses to TX.

The governor’s 6-month ban on new data centers conveniently ends after the election but before the Legislature can pass new laws.
A hatred of data centers is uniting Texans against corporate tax breaks
Texans unite like never before against data centers and their tax exemptions, writes columnist Chris Tomlinson.

>uses data to show that there hasn’t been a major disaster (ignores that this is because of government regulations)

Regulations wins once again

@sherrodbrownoh.bsky.social gets it for Ohio. Data centers affect residential electricity availability and cost. His opponent just wants to keep bringing data centers in without any regulation

Vote for Sherrod in November!

democrats/liberals/progressives with any common sense need to get ahead of this electricity cost issue - we need restraint and regulation of ai and data centers, which are driving up costs www.cnbc.com/2025/11/26/a...

As GOP postures against data centers, here’s what their moneyman Elon Musk just demanded at G20 on data centers:

“It is pretty straightforward, you have to have an environment that is relatively free of regulation. New things must be default legal instead of default illegal.”

If Musk did this in the EU, under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), he would be in the clink on the first day.

The Lone Star state is just the place for the data center revolution because of its friendliness to business and lax regulation. And while industry leaders promise economic gains, some Texans fear the pressure data centers could add to the state’s already strained resources like water and energy.

if a campaign ran on ending data miners and funding regulation in a meaningful way i s2g
There are really an egregious number of recalls happening and idk maybe we should think about funding regulation bc I don’t want to worry about listeria, botulism, and E. coli when I am buying groceries

AI data centers are sucking up communities’ power & water.

AI is being used by corporations to shaft consumers and is threatening young workers’ job prospects.

So Trump wants to ram through a ban on state AI regulation — all to help out his Big Tech billionaire friends.

Priorities.

Hipkins wanting clear standards and regulation.

Wonder whether the vaping regulation Trumped the hiding of positive vaccine data, or that initial denial of the Moderna MRNA flu shot application, which data shows is more effective than conventional flu vaccines.
“.. following a tumultuous period for the regulator that included clashes over vaping, abortion and drug policy.”

I think this really depends on what kind of “anti-AI” you mean here because it is a rich text. Advocating strict regulation (or any regulation tbh), Glonzoing a data center, and “ban it all” are all very different things!

I am such an outspoken critic of mandatory reporting. I authored a comment for that regulation opposing the expansion and used data from my research to support that position.
