It's Disability Book Week, and so I thought I would make a post with a load of book recs. I have not read all of these, but I hope to one day.

I've had to do it in 2 parts to include all 8 slides.

Let me know what books you would add to this list ☺️

If you want to read about Taryn and Florence, the first book they appear in is available here: kobo.com/ebook/a-summer-with-the-immortal
Or here: parisvivian.itch.io/a-summer-with-the-immortal

The other 3 are from a WIP.

preferences and career-determining SI are quite different. She also notably does echolalia.

Arimeo has an action figure line as his SI (unrelated to his job), and is sound-sensitive, unlike his sister.

Cevare is mainly texture-sensitive. (4/5)

with loud noises and doesn't really get Sis, and also has a notable tendency to personify inanimate objects + gHSD / hEDS on the side (Taryn has neither).

As for other characters: Florence is fairly similar to Taryn, but her specific food (3/5)

She also has a scientific field as her special interest, which became her field of study.

Darby, on the other hand, has mostly smell-related sensory sensitivities and mainly stims with pressure and strong-tasting food. She has little issue (2/5)

I like how my (as of current writing) autistic MCs have very different traits.

Taryn is sensitive to loud noises, heat, certain textures (rough / sticky), and lots of tastes, and mainly stims via hand-flapping and touching smooth textures. (1/5)

For #DisabilityBookWeek here's a reminder that just about every book I write has disabled characters, including disabled protagonists.

Inheritance: Quentin is autistic, and (as yet) undiagnosed.

Tooth & Claw: Ellis is blind.

⭐️100+ Queer Books with Disability Rep ⭐️

April 20-26 is Disability Book Week.

I love finding queer, disabled rep in romance books both because it's personal and because it is such a hard-hitting intersection!
