They love each other sometimes

Today is the 2 year anniversary of when I met the Ravens. They just checked me out from a distance then! Here is some of my fav footage: them courting, feeding each other, barrel rolling and some of their vocalisations. They are the most amazing birds and I am so lucky to have them!

A Better CaturDogDay….

I am so moved by the Ravens: their obvious affection for one another, how they raise a family, how they just soar & tumble having fun. I am biased but I can’t think of another species of bird so complex & interesting! Listen to their little chortles this morning How can you not love them! 😁

For my #BirdOfTheDay, I give you a Mallard hen escorting her ducklings across the mud for #BirdsStandingOnSomething. She was escorting a brood of 5, hustling them along while keeping an eye on me. They were headed for a back channel in the rushes, one of the ducklings was quite far ahead.

I'm doing a 31 day summer reset where my primary meal is a vegan plant-plate 🌿 Day 1/31: chopped romaine lettuce, chopped mixed veggies (corn, carrots, celery, radicchio), kimchi, seaweed salad, edamame, and smoky tempeh strips. So satisfying!

Rescue dogs don’t hand out trust freely. Martha had a horrendous start in life and still struggles to trust people. This morning she decided I was safe enough to climb onto the bed for a big cuddle. Her owners were thrilled as she doesn’t even do that with them. What an enormous privilege, I melted.
