The Windows vibe-coding is so lame. My PC wouldn't get an IP address until I set an arbitrary static IP on it and then went back to "obtain automatically". Restarting my ethernet adapter didn't work, neither did restarting my comp. Not even ipconfig /release and /renew worked.

huh. im seemingly ip blocked by chaos.social? doing `curl chaos.social` works on my mobile internet connection, and other servers i have access to, but not on ethernet/wifi (the connection just gets refused, though pings still come through)

For no particular reason, I've been reading the 2000 Ministerial Inquiry into INCIS and as someone only born in 1994, reading that Police changed from IBM SNA to TCP/IP and from Token Ring to Ethernet is wacky since I've never known a world without TCP or Ethernet as the only real options

For no particular reason, I've been reading the 2000 Ministerial Inquiry into INCIS and as someone only born in 1994, reading that Police changed from IBM SNA to TCP/IP and from Token Ring to Ethernet is wacky since I've never known a world without TCP or Ethernet as the only real options
I was slightly freaking out last night that my PC was only getting 30 Mbps down while my phone was getting 300, I thought there was some background process I couldn't find eating up all my data.
I forced it to get an IP over ethernet and it turns out it just has a shitty wireless adapter is all.
