REALITY POST & THREAD.
Reality about what happened with women & work and money in the #American family. Leave it to Beaver was full of shite and flat out lies. That has never been the experience of most Black, White, Asian, Indigenous etc. families in America.
This didn't happen. The perception that it did is largely based on fictional shows that were about rich people. Much more common was a household where one person (theoretically Dad in a het household) was the higher earner and paid the housing costs and the other paid utilities & food
Just ONE generation ago, our fathers could support an entire family on a single paycheck.

Afford homes, buy cars, raise kids, family vacations, and retire with pensions… all on ONE middle-class salary.

Today? Two incomes barely cover rent in most cities.

Brandon Thor explains how Vietnam War debts forced President Nixon to end the gold standard in 1971. This decision unlinked the U.S. dollar from physical gold, shifting our global financial system to paper currency. #GoldStandard #BrandonThor #FinancialHistory #MonetaryPolicy

The Nasdaq Tech Bubble (2000) and @Bitcoin $BTC (2021) showed the most dramatic rises and falls.

Notice how quickly bubbles typically unwind compared to their formation.

The S&P 500 (2021) appears relatively modest in comparison.
