I couldn't figure out why my cats have been absolute MENACES the last few weeks, waking me up at all hours to get treats and wet food because I only give them treats and wet food on specific days / times of day. But I got up this morning and my kid gave them treats AND wet food AND CATNIP AT 8AM

i have so many thoughts on the accents but yes i agree it was such good direction to give tural its own specific identity and avoid what was probably expected. glad that outside of tacos, the plot relevant food was pibil, too. that felt like much more of a shout-out than shoehorned "reference"

Hmmm, I wonder if maybe I should write specific AU's for Helena. She'd fit in pretty well into most verses, but I got hit by the idea of her in the #RWBYRP verse acting as an officer in the Atlas Army. Good food for thought.))

It's immensely frustrating to be a person with a specific type of kidney disease, who has to avoid protein to protect my kidneys, and live in this MAHA hellscape that has resulted in extra protein being shoved into every fucking food.

B.C. Premier David Eby Proposes Grocery Profit Caps Amid Affordability Concerns
The article discusses British Columbia Premier David Eby's recent announcement of a cap on corporate grocery profits for specific food items including milk, eggs, butter, cheese, chicken, and turkey. The author, Adam Pankratz, argues that this policy is misguided and would likely lead to food shortages, as price controls have historically caused market imbalances. Pankratz points out that grocery store profit margins are already very low (3-4% for companies like Loblaws), indicating that the industry is not exploiting consumers but operating efficiently in a competitive market. The article criticizes Eby's approach as part of a broader pattern of government overreach, citing his previous proposal to tax unsold condo units in response to the housing crisis. Pankratz argues that such policies fail to address the root causes of affordability issues and instead create disincentives for businesses to operate, ultimately worsening the problems they aim to solve. The author also notes that Eby's target, Save-On-Foods owned by B.C. billionaire Jimmy Pattison, is a locally owned business with significant philanthropic contributions, making the policy seem particularly misguided. The article concludes that Eby's policies reflect a lack of effective solutions to the real challenges facing British Columbians, with the premier resorting to 'Soviet-inspired price controls' and increased taxation without addressing underlying economic issues.

There are a lot of things I like about the food scene here, especially compared to Buffalo, but man sometimes I just want a specific fast food chain and not having them in the area is just so weird and disruptive to my id

In the US lots of organizations do "canned food drives" but I'm not aware of a specific tradition of doing it at school.

Still haven't raised enough to get food. My kitchen is totally empty and I'm starving. Because of ARFID (eating disorder) I need specific safe foods or I physically cannot eat. Urgently need mutual aid to close this gap so I can finally put something in my stomach.
Woke up starving and I have absolutely no food in the house. Just trying to scrape together a few bucks for a quick breakfast so I can actually eat today. Anything helps right now.

overall, I think "any temperature food" (ATF) is better than "specific temperature food" (STF) but the highs at both ends of STF are much better than ATF

"it hurts when they're empty for too long, and it hurts when they're too full, and it hurts when just the exact right food isn't eaten in the specific right way" ah yes, a perfect system

How was the hotel food operations this year? I’m still baffled from last year when they only served food at specific times.

And that's not even counting that those of us with medically specific diets and most food banks here are not giving out produce or anything perishable. You're getting cereal and ramen.

Anyway that's my rant, sorry. I am in my feels tonight.
