#GE2019
Thing about this sort of answer from the BBC is that I don’t remember them adjusting their coverage much in 2022-24 when the polls were in Labour’s favour. I may be misremembering, but I thought they kept to the proportions from GE2019.
Complaint to BBC made, not that it will do much good as my previous complaint about excessive Reform coverage got a bland answer about them doing well in the opinion polls and they always strive to give fair and balanced coverage...yeah right

In GE2019, the Tories got 56% of seats on 44% of the votes. In GE2024, Labour got 63% of seats on 34% of the votes.

We need to change this system so that seats match votes - voters should get the MPs and policies they vote for.

odd though - I'm surprised he wants to draw attention to it starting in 2018

have you noticed how Nigel Farage skips straight from Nathan Gill being in UKIP to Nathan Gill being in Reform UK?

not a word about Nathan Gill joining the Brexit Party and being a Brexit Party MEP and GE2019 candidate

Holyrood 2026 doesn't look like the hardest race to call. The fundamentals are an SNP clean sweep - most popular party, most popular leader, lead on nearly all key issues, etc. But, like GE2019+GE2024, it is quite relative, with underlying weaknesses and benefitting from a divided opposition.
🧵 / With less than six months until the Scottish Parliament election, the SNP are the party Scots are most likely to consider voting for

SNP: 37% would consider
Greens: 27%
Lib Dems: 26%
Labour: 23%
Reform UK: 21%
Conservatives: 15%
'Your Party': 15%
Alba: 8%

GE2019 was a de facto right wing coup, at the worst possible time in perhaps a century.

Most still pretend this didn't happen.

SURVATION MRP POLL. 11k+ cohort

Predicts landslide Labour election victory with 12 cabinet ministers losing their seats and Tories to lose all 44 red wall seats gained in GE2019

Lose more than 20 constituencies in its southern blue wall strongholds and achieve a record-low number of seats

And, boy, did that switcheroo appear to pay off at #GE2019, giving BoJo an 80-seat majority and a "stonking mandate" to "Get Brexit Done".

Big swing to the right lol!

1. The combined right vote went down ~25% #GE2019 -> #GE2024

2. Don’t forget FPTP (vs PR too).

3. Don’t ignore the growth of non-voters.

4. And factor in the constant media platforming of far right talking points.

5. And tactical voting

GE2015 & GE2019 don't change this narrative at all, it just reinforces it.

We get Starmerism. "Securonomics", more left wing economics (but still shit). Anti Immigration to "restore trust". Move away from all this University nonsense.

15.5 million people didn't vote at #GE2019

19.4 million people didn't vote at #GE2024

are they getting the policy they want?

are politicians listening to them?

those numbers are more than any party received.

those people could join a movement and take over.
