#GE2019
Imagine the (worse!) chaos under the #Tories between 2015 and 2024
Cameron resigns - Gen Election July 2016 (after #GE2015)
May resigns - GE July 2019 (after #GE2017)
Johnson resigns - GE Sept 2022 (after #GE2019)
Truss resigns - GE Oct 2022
#GE2024
7 Gen Elections in 9 years!
(Assuming #Tory wins)

Couple of points:

Labour has approved the “oven ready deal” after the GE2019.

The ”enthusiasm” of this guy is contagious.

The red line are still there so any “deal” will be very limited but good for Labour to lie again to their so called “pro European” voters, the most gullible around.

The "Get Brexit Done" claim of Johnson in GE2019 played on this ignorance & the desperation of voters who thought Brexit could be just done and over with allowing government to refocus on their real issues. Despite the doubts creeping in there was also still some lingering hope that "Project Fear"

#HaroldWilson and #BoJo had the excuse in #GE1966, #GEOct1974 & #GE2019 that they didn't have a majority.

#StanleyBaldwin, #ClementAttlee, #EdwardHeath and #TheresaMay all fell foul of what was felt to be an unneccessarily early #GeneralElection when they did. #GE1923 #GEFeb1974, #GE2017.

I assume the Home Office is applying the laws.

The laws that have been voted by both the Tories and Labour together after the GE2019 and not amended after the Labour 2024 landslide

It was one of the largest protests of the 21st century that roughly tied on numbers with the Iraq war protest for getting approx 1 million people peacefully across London.

GE2019 might as well have been the people's vote for all functional purposes.

In GE2019 #Farage stood down a number of #BrexitParty candidates, in #Tory seats, to help the #Tories win.
Perhaps now there’s going to be a byelection in #Clacton the other Parties could stand down some of their candidates to stop #ReformUK Ltd. from winning the seat!

If you want to talk about votes, remember that #JeremyCorbyn got more votes in #GE2017 than he did in #GE2019. I like Corbyn. Like Starmer, he is a decent and honourable man who was a failure because he did not pick the right people to be his close advisors.
June 26, 2026 at 7:14 AM
You are absolutely right that #Starmer got a huge majority as people wanted to get the Tories out. But I know many who voted to #GTTO in #GE2024 who couldn’t vote for #Corbyn in #GE2019.

#BoJo also delivered the Conservatives the highest number of votes for any Tory leader in #GE2019.

Funny nobody seems to remember that Corbyn got the highest number of votes for any Labour leader and the results of GE2019 where built on Johnson’s Brexit lies
But then when you post with out alt text what can we expect
June 21, 2026 at 8:55 AM
To be fair, #JeremyCorbyn also gave the Tories a majority in #GE2019 that Starmer, McSweeney, Reeves or Phillips would ever be able to deliver.

Poor kids won't be able to watch it and won't be able to drink through a horrible election night like GE2019

Why only address the Trump "distortion," avoiding the Cenotaph & Johnson examples? BBC News helped ensure Johnson won GE2019, despite knowing he was totally unfit for office due to his appalling track record of dishonesty & corruption as London Mayor. Emily Maitlis finally woke up,but not you.

But it's the truth, Starmer's destroyed the Labour party after helping to ensure Labour lost GE2019. Bliar, another war criminal, started it & Starmer's finished it off. I was a lifetime Labour voter & Trade Unionist until Bliar's illegal war. As predicted, Starmer opened the door to fascism.

If #BrexitParty hadn't stood in #Makerfield at #GE2019, would likely have been a very close result, it's one of a number of seats #Labour held, where a strong #BxP or #HeavyWoollenIndependent or similar performance won enough votes that if you added it to #ConsParty total, Cons would've won seat.

I actually think the GE2019 result was due to a desire to end the bickering in Parlmt where no Brexit soln was acceptable.

Whilst I applaud the statement, there is history.

Greens stood down in 20+ constituencies in GE2019 in favour of Labour candidates. This was not reciprocated by Labour in a single GE constituency.

Ho-hum

Article with vital detail in the depth of it.
Christopher Harborne has been funding Farage since 2019

2019 April: Harborne gave Brexit Party £200K
May: got 32% of EU election vote, ending PM May

July: Harborne gave £1m
August: 2x £1m donations
Then £6.5m before GE2019 + allegedly more £1M bungs?

Yes, it's really vital article and a lot of detail is lost in the depth of it.
Harborne has been in with Farage since 2019

2019 April: Harborne gave Brexit Party £200K
May: got 32% of EU election vote, ending PM May
July: Harborne gave £1m
August: 2x £1m donations

I think that's nonsense, there's a lot of pretty talented Labour backbenchers but they're inexperienced and I think even Andy will probably be fine.

If you're proposing that you think the GE2019 parliament was more talented than this one I'd vehemently disagree.
