I even wrote a poem of (slightly qualified) joy this morning. A haibun, even! Crazy.
*Still* in such a good mood. Especially after being so deeply depressed these last months…
FYI: I’m still in a pretty good mood.

Modern Haiku Issue 57.3 is wonderful! Insightful essays and reviews, a gorgeous poetry gallery, and incredible haibun, haiku, and senryu. I’m so thrilled to be included with such a stellar group of poets. Special thanks to Paul Miller for including my haiku, a poem that is deeply personal.

Hacked up haibun, I'm done for the day!

Fair warning, this is about self-harm and that demon voice I used to hear. It just worked for this one.

Take blue for instance, it is said to be the colour of harmony, tranquility, peace and calm. It is associated with spirituality and deep sense of connectedness. It does carry a sense of sadness in some circumstances. O, you seem blue right now, meaning down.

Thank you Michael for your kind words, and for these lines. They feel like the other side of my haibun: mine says nothing returns, yours keeps arrival in balance with departure.
