After years of Trump abusing the system & the public, at long last people are saying: "Enough!". This small shallow man is trying to bully us into a future that will benefit his club. Will we wait for the abuse to take its toll before we wake up? #Carney #Harperism @liberalca.bsky.social #Cdnpoli

Again aside from everything else it's weird to have the Tories just give up on being His Majesty's Loyal Opposition

OTOH, it's not that surprising to have Tories vote for Harperism

What IS surprising is Grits meekly going along with bills that'll lose them every urban riding once reality sets in

Well that's just great (I didn't know the first part, but it explains a few things)

The Liberals' failure to deal with the CBC management problem is still outrageous and it won't happen now, not with Carney headed straight back to Harperism

this is such a bad way to understand Pierre who is essentially just warmed over Harperism in a populist form. i like how americans think this is a good comparison but the rise of Carney had much more to do with Trudeau leaving (which in itself reset polls to a much more competitive state)
You guys were well on your way to electing your own version of Trump till he decided to be an asshole.

Harper seemed incredibly bad though, he was an American-style conservative in ways that I (an American) hadn't expected from Canada, particularly his rejection of reality in favor of ideology. Warned over Harperism could be quite worrisome, especially if it's distilled rather than merely reheated.

Zombie Harperism. What a cursed economic policy.
April 22, 2025 at 5:00 PM
Several polls have suggested a growing move towards the NDP from Liberals who are unhappy with Carney's move towards Harperism, and that's despite the media honeymoon that's only let up in the last month or so.

And why on earth are you moaning about how a LEFTIST might be internationalist?

Canada gains nothing. CARNEY gains another step towards his bizarre "Energy Superpower" goal of having Canadians do little more than dig up tar and sell it abroad. Old school Harperism.

Also, artists and creatives are a key bloc for the NDP. Can't have that! So away they go.

To understand Poilievre one must understand Harper and who is responsible for the power of the CPC . They used to call themselves CRAP and that was more fitting.
They originated from the Wild Rose, Mavericks, Yellow Vesters, Reform, skinheads and other far right groups.

"At the core of Trumpist assault on democratic self-government, they see the attempt to centralize all power with the executive & use it as a tool to install a new regime." /2

What Authoritarianism Means
Even critical observers underestimated the speed and scope of the Trumpist assault, they overestimated democratic resilience. What is America now, and what comes next?

the peepee meh in CDN Finance (re full article) is like a starter pack in the long toxic ick of Harperism.

Ahead, I'm hoping for the run-down on the foreign-owned interests. For real this time. Why we'd take the current US president at face value on this candidate rn is... strange.

This piece is from 2014, and is absolutely timeless. The propaganda is all around us, normalized, and extremely damaging. We NEED to educate ourselves, examine our own values. Do we really want to destroy the collective, sharing aspects of our country? Is that who we want to be? I fking hope not. 🇨🇦

I realise we've bought some already. But now they're not giving Canadians details of what they're spending and where. That's pure Harperism.

Smart. I hope this means the return of real conservatism and the removal of Harperism/magaism. Yes I mangled the language. Bring back old school cons.
