Less crime, less hospital visits, less suffering and even including the cost of the house, LESS COST than the UK/USA method of abandoning them on the streets.

We know tax breaks for wealthy property investors are a key driver of the housing crisis & intergenerational inequality. Labor has an opportunity to fix the housing crisis - but if they keep dodging real reform, they’ll lock a whole generation out of owning a home.

There's no place for institutional finance in rental markets. It's a predatory extraction machine that robs the poor and middle.

But one thing I'd add: we should stop calling these people "investors". They don't "invest". They buy up and milk existing assets. 🧵

It will be chaos inside the Qld Dept of Housing this morning. Training in Brisbane was organised for today with staff booked to come from places like Cairns & Townsville but David Crisafulli & Sam O'Connor took Newman's axe to Service Delivery on Friday.
