Stop trying to make your game 'realistic' and start making it 'forgiving.'

Coyote time, input buffering, and hidden health buffs aren't cheating—they’re why a game feels good to play.

What’s the best 'invisible' mechanic you’ve added?

Stop making "floaty" movement. The secret is asymmetrical gravity. Multiply your gravity scale by 2x specifically when the player is falling. It makes jumps feel intentional and landings snappy.

What’s your #1 trick for better game feel?

Your capsule art is key.
If it clearly reflects your genre + vibe, Steam is more likely to show it in “More Like This” and discovery queues.

Better visuals = better reach. Simple.

Screen shake is the most overrated "juice" in gamedev.

Try 3 frames of hit-stop instead. It feels 10x heavier and won't make your players motion sick.

What’s your #1 secret for better game feel?

I finished my new ttrpg yesterday so:
Always let it sit for a bit, then reread it
Start working on something different
Organize the material you just used, folders, file names
Check your schedule, see if the next item in line feels right, then go for it

Turn on two factor authentication on your stuff
Interesting phishing attempt.

Remember kids, if someone is messaging you something dodgy, (like desperately pushing to get you on a secondary app) report and move on! Apps like discord have notorious security issues, and never click on a link if you aren’t sure where it’s from.

My goal was to keep writing everyday, at least 5 minutes
I was unemployed for the first half of the year, and then finally got a gig. Waking up to write everyday helped me keep the routine and my day in good hopes

So dont stop writing
Even if its just five minutes

Life can feel like tetris, all these things coming at you that need to fit in a day and there’s no time and sometimes you leave a hole with nothing

But it’s not like that so

Give yourself an opportunity

Don’t toss it aside if It appears

There’s no timer

You deserve it
