#IntelliSense

I've rejected ai coding so hard I am becoming one of those guys who thinks intellisense rots your brain

Threw together something I've wanted for awhile: mdx-tsc

Typecheck your MDX files just like you do other TS. Validate in CI

Plus:

- Typed frontmatters. Errors on both defintions and usage
- A VSCode extension that add intellisense, go to def, etc for frontmatters

I genuinely think they're counting intellisense completions as ai written code....

people talk alot about all the huge advances in programming, but mostly they just make life worse (web blah blah blah), but package managers and intellisense are legit like lol such unbelievably powerful tools.

intellisense? nono go vs 6 full @nothings.bsky.social the proper experience. that would be the chill out room after the screaming room

For any friends using beta.cva.style with @zed.dev, here's a handy snippet to enable @tailwindcss.com IntelliSense

PSA: if you're using @tailwindcss.com with cva.style, consider updating your IntelliSense classRegex for a more robust solution 🏋🏼

Stable: cva.style/docs/getting-started/installation#intellisense
Beta: beta.cva.style/getting-started/installation#intellisense

If you are using Visual Studio with Resharper or another tool replacing Intellisense:

Setting 'Disable Intellisense' to True is _not_ enough, you also need to set 'Disable Database' to True

This made VS sooooo much faster for me 😅

like getting a bunch of libraries to work in a C++ app in the years before web search and intellisense and package managers was unbelievable hell
May 7, 2025 at 5:09 AM
I've said this before but I'm not looking at something like Intellisense on the same level as using Claude Code or whatever. Having something that is suggesting autocompletes from the libraries you have access to is not trying to write entire functions for you from scratch. >>

really wish i could shake everyone making these same statements until they think about what they're saying for 10 seconds, you all know damn well intellisense is not fucking AI generation. slippery slope ass motherfuckers need to shut up
September 17, 2026 at 11:15 PM
imagine if some of the effort microsoft put into copilot instead went into making intellisense actually work right. its 2025 and autocomplete still doesn't know how to handle templates that do perfect forwarding to another function

Added Intellisense. #gamedev #indiedev #virtual3D

Setting aside your definition of “vibe coding” for a moment…

For me, the interesting thing is solving the problem.

Did you also complain when Intellisense first appeared? Or high-level languages? Or when languages replaced punch cards?

Which to my understanding generally came out to things like Intellisense for completing lines of code and QA automation, things that are long-established dev tools way before genAI, the cult of Claude Code, and similar slop shat out through a prompt.

Just set a Unity build going and walked away from the PC.

Intellisense had hallucinated a bunch of namespaces and added them to the top of a script? So it failed and I've wasted half an hour. When will we be free of this fucking AI bullshit?

(yes, I am now going to turn off Intellisense)

okay intellisense i want you to be real with me

when have I *ever* used transparencySortAxis

Gotta say, getting intellisense suggestions for scene node paths in VSCode is pretty slick.

VS Code Insiders now features terminal IntelliSense enabled by default!

Give it a try to have seamless, dynamic suggestions in the terminal, like when you're checking out a branch.

Day 17 — until today, intellisense would often fail when you were in the middle of writing components, because Svelte's parser crashed on syntax errors.

We just fixed that. Install svelte@latest, make sure your extensions are up to date, and feel the wind in your hair as you write your components

Literally the only thing it's good for in code is to eliminate mindless repetitive stuff (scaffolding, etc) and even then it doesn't do a better job than, say, IntelliSense in Visual Studio and at least IntelliSense doesn't hallucinate syntax and libraries that don't exist
