Favourites on the night for me were an American Single Malt Whiskey from Seattle distillery Westland that was finished in a Banyuls Wine cask and a 10yr old PX Sherry cask finish Knockdhu

A Netherfield #whisky bottler has a 18 yo Knockdhu single cask in their collection. This is a lightly peated speyside single malt with Oloroso cask finish. It has a natural color and cask strangth 55.8% abv.

A sunset dram to round off a top day at the beach in North Wales. This Knockdhu totally belies its young age perhaps thanks to the quality 1st-fill Marsala barrique it matured in. On the nose, stewed plums, black cherries, rich oak & dark choc. The palette offers espresso, walnuts & more dark fruit.

Mr Gavin Michie, Manager of Knockdhu distillery for the last 14 years, retires due to ill health.
He started his career there as a clerk and served the distillery for 40 years.
Unfortunately Mr Michie would pass away just 7 months later.
