5) War es wirklich Friendly-Fire, welches die F-16 abschoss, haben Dinge unter Punkt 3 und 4 versagt.
Das Link16 hätte geholfen die Gefahr von Friendly-Fire zu reduzieren, aber es hätte es sicher nicht verhindert. Den Knopf zum Abschuss drückt immer noch ein Mensch. Ist leider so. 🤷♂️

But the F-16s don't (yet) have Link16 to automate reception of the radar track from the radar bird. Have seen rumors that this will be changing soon.

Limiting factor for Russia will be that they need to launch at 50000 feet and they will be seen at 400km distance by GlobalEyes which can conveniently direct Meteor by Link16 directly to the engagement area at maximum limit of engagement of Meteor carried by JAS 39.

If it is in receive mode, it doesn't radiate anything.
And there is lot of creative solutions off the shelf to make datalink now. Link16 is only one option.

Die europäischen Militärluftfahrzeuge bekommen endlich softwaredefinierte Datenlinkradios namens "F-EMIDS". Damit kann man weiterhin Link16, aber künftig auch andere souveräne Standards parallel verwenden.

Nu spørger jeg måske om mere, end der kan svares på i det åbne domæne. Men hvor langt ned (eller måske snarere op) i NATO’s kommandostruktur er de data, der kommer fra Link16 synlige? Kan USA trække positioner fra fx danske fly ud i realtid? De data, det danske forsvar bruger i SitaWare?

I think it would be a non recognition by the link16 of the Canadian planes. Without the connection the plane is lost, no localisation, no warning and the arms rendered useless.

Yes, all the pieces say that agreement was reached to add the capability back. Have yet to see that the addition to the airframes has been completed. Link16 was initially removed from all aircraft (and other systems like Patriot) sent to Ukraine prior to delivery.
