#LivingWithDisability
Last year we had the floors in our sunken living room raised to accommodate my physical limitations. It was a huge project and something to think about if you’re designing a space or house shopping. Life is unpredictable and retrofitting a home is expensive. #livingwithdisability #accessibledesign

Gilmore’s getting clean in our mostly original 1964 bathroom. The tiled lip and narrow entry make this shower inaccessible for me. Strangely enough, the tub/shower in our other bathroom works better because I can transfer to a shower chair and pull my legs over. #livingwithdisability

A look into our formerly sunken living room. The step down was right at the divider. Due to my limited mobility, we had the floor raised to be level. It was quite a project including windows, vents and cabinet height. But I’m so glad we did it! #accessibility #accessiblehome #livingwithdisability

Hi everyone. Looking for recs on books about #livingwithdisability. My sister is recently disabled with neuro issues. This may be chronic or permanent. I would love to find her accessible own voices to help her process her grief, anger, and fear. Any ideas?

Living with a disability means some days take more strength than others.
Still showing up anyway.

Living with a disability means pacing, resting, and starting again tomorrow.
I showed up today — and that’s enough.

If this resonates, feel free to share it with someone who needs a gentle reminder tonight.

It’s exhausting having to prove my disability every 90 days to the state like I’m in trouble. 😔 Feels like I’m constantly checking in, even though I’ve done nothing wrong. Just trying to live my life, but it’s hard for others to understand. #MentalHealth #LivingWithDisability #NeverDone

I feel like they wrote this song for me... I know they didn't but it has such a positive message of resilience. This is dedicated to all my fellow #spoonies #chronicillness #chronicpain #disability #livingwithdisability

I get why they do it, checking in on those in need, but it feels like an invasion of my privacy. 😔 Scheduling my whole day down to the minute is exhausting when all I want is to live my life without constant reminders of my disability. #DisabilityStruggles #PrivacyMatters #LivingWithDisability

“Some days, strength looks different. I keep creating, keep moving, and keep going—one day at a time.”

“What does resilience look like when no one is watching?”
