Made a DirectX 11 port of the map viewer to see how it compares to the OpenGL version. So far, DX11 is easier to work with than OpenGL and has a lot more room for optimization. Still a while to go to get on the level of the OpenGL viewer (missing culling, instancing, memory freeing), but yay!

Made a DirectX 11 port of the map viewer to see how it compares to the OpenGL version. So far, DX11 is easier to work with than OpenGL and has a lot more room for optimization. Still a while to go to get on the level of the OpenGL viewer (missing culling, instancing, memory freeing), but yay!
And this likely doesn't even include the stuff mentioned in the notes given that wouldnt show up in the mapviewer since completed endeavors would be tracked on the server per neighborhood, so we might see more next week when housing opens up.

Over 125 #GeoInquiries converted for ArcGIS Online MapViewer. These are so powerful for the classroom and easy to use! You can use them exactly as is, or disassemble, and just use the maps and data. Go for it!!
One fun one that's requiring some puzzling is Zaralek Cavern, the usual map looks normal (map.wow.tools?map=2454&v=3...), but there's more of it, including (previously explored) parts of an old version of Dragon Isles pasted in, still tracking down the border tiles, but you get the idea.

Its dumb that Mounds View Township got fragmented into Mounds View, Arden Hills, and Shoreview... The Mounds in view in Mounds View are in Arden Hills where the Army Plant is- the very center of the old township's doughnut.
