Jesus mythicism is considered a fringe position in the ancient history scholarship. We have more evidence on a preacher called Jesus existing than some ancient rulers. And we can even corroborate when this figured lived with more precision than Zoroaster and Buddha.
This is a weird post. Firstly, there are a ton of religious artifacts in museums. Secondly, even though there's no historical evidence that Jesus actually existed, Mohammed and Siddhartha were both real people.

Russia may well become a sort of creepy Orthodox Christian version of the Islamic Republic of Iran, by the time this war is over. I feel like it is heading into that direction with the constant promotion of orthodox mythicism, and the cynical Christian messaging.

If Jesus mythicism was at all a tenable position, then you would have had people arguing it well before the 1800s! We have anti-Christian polemics from the ancient period and no one, pagan or Jewish was saying Christians were following a made up guy.

Lots of people have lots of dumb opinions on the ancient world but this one bothers me because while they’re completely at odds with the universal consensus of scholars it’s always presented as if mythicism is an accepted fact and anyone who doesn’t hold to it is hopelessly outdated.
