#ChangeTheDogma! #TLRpower! @jkagan1.bsky.social @danielhfisch.bsky.social &co show @nature.com that TRAM, so far believed to control endosomal TLR4 signaling & interferon #IFN production, is essential to release the #myddosome from #TIRAP & the plasma membrane allowing full NFkB signaling!
TRAM promotes Toll-like-receptor-free myddosome signal transduction - Nature
TRAM is a regulator of myddosome assembly through dissociating MyD88 from the TLR–TIRAP complex to enable myddosome maturation and durable downstream signal transduction.

miR-146, a microRNA involved in the TLR-4/NFkb pathway, is known to regulate proinflammatory signaling, whereas HMGB1 activates inflammatory pathways through TLR2 and TLR4 receptors. (🧵 2/10)

Building on Tom's previous findings on nfkb and immune suppression in coral-algae symbiosis, we wanted to know if hosting different algal types (Cladocopium/C vs. Durusdinium/D) changes a coral's immune state. (2/16)

First, we profiled GE patterns of Cladocopium- and Durusdinium-hosting corals and found that genes associated with immunity (including NFkB!) were upregulated in D-hosting corals. This pattern was confirmed via western blotting.
