The NYPD outright kidnapping a sitting mayor’s daughter after he suggested police accountability was a pretty evident red flag, to support your point!

abolish the nypd
Tisch’s “public safety” strategy: Go to the most disinvested areas, ticket people for being poor. When they can’t pay fines, issue warrants for their arrest. Then say, “Look we’re arresting all these dangerous criminals with warrants.” This is broken windows policing.

Folks said this when Mamdani was elected.

NYPD officers did not quit their jobs.
Los Angeles Police Protective League official and LAPD officer Jamie McBride told NBC today:

“If Nithya Raman becomes the mayor, the city needs to prepare for Armageddon. She won’t have to defund the police. Police officers will just leave the department.”

The NYPD says this every municipal election, or really when anything at all happens, but somehow the cops never quit after all
Los Angeles Police Protective League official and LAPD officer Jamie McBride told NBC today:

This is like all the cops that were going to quit the NYPD when Mamdani won, if only!
November 5, 2026 at 1:14 PM
every time pissbaby cops act like this I remeber the NYPD throwing a fit bc De Blasio wasn't sufficiently obsequious so they went on 'strike' and said they'd only work major crimes, and nobody noticed or cared

As a retired NYPD Detective who worked many years in the Organized Crime Control Bureau, I can attest that…

Fwiw NYPD insiders fearmongered that all the cops were gonna quit over Mamdani. Doesn't seem to have played our that way.

Turns out most cops are very attached to their pension plans & early retirement

My team is in contact with the NYPD and community leaders. We will continue to use every tool at our disposal to confront antisemitism, hold those responsible accountable and ensure that hatred has no place in our city.

I'm so old I remember when the entire NYPD was gonna quit.

NYPD officers quit in droves before Zohran Mamdani was even inaugurated.

Then NYC had its safest January on record:

- 60% fewer homicides
- 20% fewer shootings

Almost like when abusive, unaccountable cops leave, communities get safer.

Funny how that works.

In many cases, NYPD officers pausing their normal activities effectively takes criminals off the streets.

Was just about to say, I seem to remember a lot of this from the police unions & NY Post-type outlets last year. Weird how the NYPD still exists after all those threats!

The cameras aren’t Flock but looking at the site they use for reference, it seems these got targeted 1) for being listed on the site and 2) for being operated by NYPD.

Now that the blue have tsunami'd, can NYPD start ticketing black cars in bus lanes
November 5, 2026 at 5:49 PM
NYC if you haven't voted like I and everyone I know did, remember to vote yes on all five ballot propositions so that the NYPD can't veto bike lanes so they have more room to park on the sidewalk
