"Move slow and make things," not move fast and break things.

I like it.

Especially appreciate the insight into how important signing one's work is for a craftsperson.

Literary translators need to be able to do this. #namethetranslator #TranslatorsOnTheCover

And not only do @theemmapress.bsky.social #namethetranslator on the cover, they even name the translator ON THE SPINE!

Today is International Translation Day.

Support translators by naming them when you mention a translated book. Because translations don't just appear out of nowhere, they are (still!) translated by human beings. Please give them the credit they deserve.

And I am reminded, for the umpteenth time, how much I (and all of us, especially those of us who routinely read #JewishBooks), owe to translators. (Always #NameTheTranslator, people!)
Just realized that this is the last #TranslationThurs for #NationalTranslationMonth; I am so looking forward to discussing the work of Yenta Mash, translated by Ellen Cassedy, with my undergraduates today. @yiddishbookcenter.bsky.social @cornellupress.bsky.social

Everybody Poops is probably Taro Gomi's most famous book translated into English. It shows readers that all animals have always defecated and encourages them to be neither ashamed nor embarrassed that they do, too.

I'm teaching Okazaki Kyoko's manga this semester, and I'm glad the English versions by Vertical are still available, but I'll never get over how they credit everyone by name (including the cover designer!) except the translator/s, who aren't even listed in the copyright info! Completely erased

Hoppla!
