Did confidence intervals in high school years ago, from it I got Z to equal the sample proportion (p_hat) minus the population proportion (p), all over sqrt(p(1-p)/n). We used Mathematica and just did Quantile[NormalDistribution[0,1],1-a/2]=Z, hope this helps ^^
