I think he is corrupt, not bumbling.
A corporate shill who chose the Blue brand, but could have easily chosen the Red brand.
Also, looking at the quality of LibLab over the years, I get the impression that after preselection filtering by factional "power brokers", the talent pool is shallow indeed!

Yes, the parties changed their political leanings. Check out my Republican friend Fiorello. He also ran on the socialist party line for one term in 1924, because the GOP wouldn’t let him be the nominee despite being the Republican incumbent. (He won anyway) #partypolitics #20thcentury #UShistory 🗃️

Good article. Sad to see so few aspects of #ALP behaving as though they are more than 12 years old and actually serving the nation. #auspol
Thirteen years, almost to the day, since he first ran for the Labor leadership and lost, Anthony Albanese presides over a party in which his faction holds unprecedented sway, with a successor in waiting drawn from its ranks. trib.al/0umIWIN

Democratic donors determined to oust Trump say they’re opening checkbooks
via The Hill News — Democratic donors who were once turned off by the state of their party are beginning to write checks again, spurred by the prospect of Republican losses in November’s midterm elections. Now that Reform UK has, as Nigel Farage predicted, replaced the Tory party, it remains to be seen if Zack Polanski’s Greens will do a similar number on Labour. Plaid Cymru seem sure to hoover up the non-Reform vote here in Wales ✍️Ben Wildsmith wp.me/p8Mk4U-19eM

Distrust of elites: There’s mutual scepticism of corporations and billionaires, seen as concentrated sources of power that transcend party loyalty.
