On the Capitol lawn in Richmond VA today.
My guess is that part of that included reattaching the pediment where the original rebar was failing. Possibly by installing a new superstructure- a continuous piece along the gable- and then attaching the pediment to that.
And I’m guessing that wasn’t strong enough for the weight of the pediment

Today's Classic Cover is the 1982 Ace Fantasy Paperback edition of Jirel of Joiry (cover artist unknown). CL Moore originally published the Jirel of Joiry stories in the 1930s in the magazine Weird Tales. They stood out as early examples of the sword & sorcery genre and for their female protagonist
