Seconding PhotoMechanic! It’s the fastest tool for doing this sort of review. I’ve also culled 1000s of frames weekly in the past two years and I couldn’t do the job without it.

PhotoMechanic by Camera Bits is pretty powerful and a lot faster than Bridge. You can rate with stars or colors and add metadata to help sort images into visual groups or collections, so you could see “all images tagged ‘blue’ with the keyword ‘dog’ ” in one sheet.
