Polyphemus was a one-eyed (or three-eyed) man-eating Cyclops giant. In an episode of Homer's Odyssey, Odysseus encounters Polyphemus, gets him drunk on wine, and drives a small sharpened stake into Polyphemus' only eye, blinding him.

I found these beautiful images of the Cyclops from Christoper Nolan's The Odyssey. This 60' Tall puppet provides the textural realism of the monster while actor Bill Irwin provided the performance.
Christopher Nolan and actor Mat Damon discuss the scene while Cyclops Polyphemus looks on. Jackson collaborated on the design of Polyphemus, inspired by Francisco Goya's painting Saturn Devouring His Son, with special effects supervisor Scott Fisher and prosthetic designer and creature supervisor Conor O' Sullivan. The team first looked to large French street puppets for inspiration. The centerpiece of the sequence was shot at the historic Nestor's Cave in Messina, Greece.

Mine is listening to Musical soundtracks and seeing if I can get a task done before specific plot points. Recently it's been Epic the Musical and if I'm cleaning the floors and I get to Athena's goodbye song I stop. I barely get to Polyphemus before I'm done with the floors now.

The “Peddler Post”, a mod to the cargo bike/beer tap combo now covered in clotheslined newsprint, amongst other Critical Mass riders on bikes. A close-up in the newspaper, headlined “Monsters take over Critical Mass”. Hundreds of monses on bicycles flooded Daley Plaza on Friday, demanding more room for goblins and ghouls on Chicago's streets. "The way these drivers behave is frightful," said Polyphemus, a 7 foot man-eating Cyclops. "All we're asking for is a little courtesy while we're riding our bikes. And maybe a small bite of their human flesh." Count Dracula, a 12,000-year-old vampire, moved to Chicago from Transylvania 200 years ago. While Chicago's bike infrastructure is better here than in his native Romania, he'd like to see more improvements along Damen Avenue south of United Center. "The other day this guy cut me off on my way to Pilsen," the count said. "I was so mad, I really had no choice but to telepathically stop the driver and suck his blood."
