FONSECA is about a few months in the life of the author Penelope Fitzgerald, when she went to Mexico in 1952 for mysterious reasons. My work on the novel started in earnest when I went to the Harry Ransom Center in 2018 to look at her notebooks. Thank you, @ransomcenter, for making it so easy.

I'm not surprised that Robert Redford came to visit @ransomcenter.bsky.social in 2011. After all, the Center is home to Woodward & Bernstein's #Watergate papers.

What I didn't know until today is that he drew a little cartoon of himself after signing our authors' door!
