Shout out to my great-great-grandfather, Pte John Mulrine of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, late of Rathmullen, Co Donegal, Ireland, who ended his service in the Second Boer War by contracting something that made him vomit for 52 days straight and being invalided straight back home
