Trying to delay ST3 projects with red tape during pride month is homophobic

Oh believe me, Sound Transit is just as bad at this. It’s been 10 years since ST3 passed and the projects are all delayed, in some cases by decades. An enormous failure.
Fourth: relatedly, transit agencies in the US, apart from maybe in Seattle and LA, don’t really know how to get big projects going. They are extremely reliant on consultants. They have forever processes to make decisions. They experience delay after delay after delay.

Mayor Harrell: <kneecaps ST3> "Why don't voters appreciate my transit accomplishments?"
Sound Transit system expansion committee now in session. No big revelations, but one unsettling stat appears. West Seattle/Ballard projects are only at "12%" in design phase, nine years after voter approval.

I'd love for him to have said this, but about ST3. "We are going to build the damn trains...building ST3 is essential for Puget Sound and Washington State."
Ferguson: "We are going to build this bridge...Replacing this bridge is essential for Oregon and Washington."
Going out on a limb but my prediction is that Ferguson is going to say this project is an urgent need for the people of Washington State (it's not) and he is going to instruct WSDOT/IBR to put a revised plan on his desk by the fall.

“Why is ST3 going over budget” well
“Why is Link going underground so often” because if you build it anywhere else then business owners will cry

Huge turnout of 250+ people at a rally and march to demand Sound Transit build light rail to Ballard as promised in the voter-approved ST3 ballot measure.

How many ST3 lines are we going to completely squander via a thousand local inputs and decision points.

Doesn’t this effectively kill ST3?

“Another major element here would limit the ability for decisions around ST3 stations to be appealed.”
Seattle's land use code is ill-equipped to handle the scale of permits that will be required to approve the city's next light rail lines. A proposed overhaul is intended to ensure transit remains on schedule.

Sound Transit will host an ST3 town hall in Ballard on the evening of Monday, October 19, agency CEO Dow Constantine said just now. Location is TBD.

Poor DuPont, voted yes on ST3 and is almost certainly getting its Sounder extension deferred.
The reason Sound Transit 3 expansion exists at all is because of Seattle voters' enthusiasm. And yet all three proposals cut back Seattle lines 🤮
