I went back to enjoying no braces in Scala3. Scalafmt does a great job, which I think is the biggest motivator, and I like the way it looks. #scala

3y ago, I was quite pessimistic about our capacity to ever migrate to #scala3 at @rudder.io.
3y on, and I planned & operated the migration without any disruption in our product workflow, and it's done. It's shared here techblog.rudder.io/blog/scala-3/ and I hope it could help others

Scala language is yet again setting the standard that other languages will inevitably steal in 5 years! From now on, it goes AI-only, forbidding human-written code at all!

The future is here, and it doesn't need our egos holding back the compiler! 🤖🧠

New policy for contributing to the Scala language - Announcements - Scala Contributors
Scala development goes AI-only, forbids human-written code! On February 24, 2026, we merged scala/scala3#25326, introducing a formal policy for the use of LLM-based tools in contributions to the Scala 3 compiler. That policy has already been effective. It reduced a whole class of low-effort AI-assisted pull requests, made contributors more explicit about how patches were produced, and gave reviewers a clearer basis for asking for local validation, tests, and prompt history when needed. However,...

That's getting more attention lately.

Isn't Scala3 explicitly multistage?

Temper has a stages for:
- desugarings that make textual name assumptions,
- hygiene holds but new definitions can be introduced,
- post type inference macros.
