#Scite
Scite assistant next to go agentic search. It used to show simple keyword search strategy used (you could even edit it). Now you see a bunch of iterative steps from search literature review, trace citation graph, read full text etc.. Results should be better, but less interpretable, reproducible?

Do you know if you have advanced access? (I am not seeing that in our scite assistant right now.) I am wondering because I have a session coming up about scite and was wondering when or if I should change my slides.

I don't have special access. In fact now I get the old existing scite assistant. I suspect they are doing ab testing. So some people will randomly get it for a while. I encountered that with JSTOR dynamic search months ago

Scholar Labs is just as garbage as Gemini. The library subscribes to a couple of AI tools (Scite, and were trialling Consensus) that are actually very good for finding literature and understanding the literature around a question.

#medlibs folks: how do you feel about Scite-AI?

(I know how I feel, I am trying to do my due diligence nonetheless)

A high citation count does not always imply that a paper's findings are undisputed. Scite analyzes citation context to show whether a study is supported, contrasted, or simply mentioned by subsequent research, providing a clearer view of a paper's impact.

Elicit: 37.9% search sensitivity vs 93.5% for Boolean. Scite: 1.6B citation statements. Every tool wins one step. Research isn't one step. cochat.ai/best-ai-research-tools/?utm_source=bluesky&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=blog_friday

Amusing. Apparently I'm just mildly interesting to corporate AI.

And I refuse on principle to try to manipulate any academic performance metrics. We don't use any of these metrics for promotion or tenure at the U of Chicago, we read our colleague's papers.

Feels—to me as a medium informed person on this—like we've entered the MCP Wars in terms of AI-powered literature searching tools.

Consensus, Scite, Elicit, Undermind maybe kind of admitting that folks are primarily using their tools as "connectors/plugins" in the frontier models? I dunno.

Elicitは文献からEvidenceを整理し、Sciteは引用が主張を支持・反証しているかまで見ます。
