My take: fair for new findings, less so for replications. #LLMs have absorbed the nomological networks between constructs, so they may reproduce known effects.

LLMs are known to be heavily biased due to the lack of comprehensive datasets. If you’re collecting more data just to boost your study, this isn’t about real humans, it’s merely a study of AI chatbots! Good reporting by @cathleenogrady.bsky.social on this.

A lot of psych is already conducted with online convenience samples & ppl are probably excited about silicon samples bc it would allow them to crank out more studies for even less 💸

How about we reconsider the idea that sciencey science involves collecting own data.
