Haven't used Cura in ages, though that's what I started with. I've stuck with PrusaSlicer ever since. Tried Orca, but the interface is a hot mess and it's not really optimal for my Prusa machines. I would never try expensive paid software that has no trial option, so Simply3D was never on my radar.

I just tried to use the brush tool and it just plain crashed. Maybe trying PicturePublisher 8 gives some better results, but that's for another day. Still surprised tho that Simply3D retains more functionality on Win10 despite its glitchyness

The clones which shared the X3G format would be the least of my concern. The later printers used a .MakerBot format that only their slicer and simply3d supported until now. Cura supports it for a couple of current printers.
