#SnW
I’ve watched maybe 10min of the SNW finale. I watched it on nightshift a week ago and got interrupted. Still have not gone back to it despite having time. I have no idea why.

We watched 1 ep of the new SNW season and immediately abandoned it to watch Farscape.
We just finished Farscape, including The Peacekeeper Wars 😭 FARSCAPE IS STILL SO GOOD WHAT THE HELL!! I WANT MORE SO BAD!

The Season 1 DVD set for SNW includes Balance of Terror as a bonus.

YES it's such a great double feature! I watched s1 of SNW before I had ever seen a minute of TOS so as I was watching this one I was like "... wait ........ WAIT ............... WAIT OMG" the whole time

I’m over it. One more season of SNW and SFA each and I’m done.

Like, it's OCCASIONALLY fun, but largely it just comes off as a marketing gimmick, and I'm always a little happier when it's over.

Except for things like in Star Trek, when they do the crossovers between different series'. Having Mariner and Boimler show up in SNW was fabulous.

I give #StarTrekDiscovery a solid 3/10. Had some neat concepts, but there were so many glaring technical errors, a focus on relationships that no one cares about, and a "EVERYTHING IS IMPORTANT RIGHT NOW" thing that made no sense, not even counting the constant retcons. Hopefully SNW is better.

For all the flaws in DIS, SFA, and SNW, I still loved them -- but I'm setting that aside because Star Trek is dead, and fascism killed it, not questionable decisions on the part of the writing team.

corinne and i both could not believed how much more fun this made SNW a quality of mercy—which had worked on its own for both of us, but felt sort of “meh” as a season one closer.

I always thought of the eye shadow as the vulcan equivalent of dark undereye circles in humans rather than makeup, but I never clocked its absence in The Cage...love that attention to detail from the SNW folks

"Yeah, its weird, but let's just roll with it" describes most of SNW, really. The weirdness is a vehicle, a means to an end. There's usually some deeper plot thing happening below all of that.

watched the "Once Upon a La'an" Episode of SNW last night... so, it was basically "D&D as Therapy" in Star Trek. The character's diegetic lampshading of their situations makes the absurdity tolerable, to me. if they tried to play it all straight, it would be insufferable.

SNW had some stuff that really put me off with the Gorn and how Starfleet reacted to them, among other things

It didn't really feel like the Federation should to me. The reason Lower Decks worked imo is because it understood that

Ojalá hiciesen temporadas completas otra vez en general pero realmente a mí los episodios random me gustan (sobre todo porque SNW es mucho menos metafísica filosófica que TOS) en cualquier caso todo será mejor que la temporada 3

I will never watch another episode of Star Trek: SNW. It’s become another series that caters to viewers who rarely look up from their phones. We hate watched the last several gimmick episodes

I agree with that someone. The ideals and hope for the future of Trek is what I enjoyed. I don't need a "gritty" Trek. Plenty of other series do that already.
I just watched s4e1 of SNW and they just straight up justified genocide. I was so disgusted and I'm unsure if I will even watch the rest.

Lower Decks (animated comedy) had a crossover with Strange New Worlds (live action). All of it was in live action, except for the last scene, where the SNW cast is drinking the booze the Lower Deckers gave them.

The implication being one or all of the LD characters are blotto 24/7.

Yes, exactly. There is quite a bit of good work trying to stuff Pop Culture Kirk (i.e. Zapp Brannigan) back down the regressive hole from whence he came. Whatever you want to say about Kirk's presence in SNW, Paul Wesley plays him extremely well. strangehorizons.com/non-fiction/...
Freshly Remember'd: Kirk Drift
There is no other way to put this: essentially everything about Popular Consciousness Kirk is bullshit.

To appreciate how truly awful #SNW is, you need to attempt a rewatch from S1e1... after 20 minutes, you're OUT, never to return.

Chicas os diré que a pesar de que tras la primera temporada SNW fue bastante churro (excepto los episodios de Kirk y esto es información objetiva) esta cuarta al final ha estado bastante chuli ME HA GUSTAO

Looking forward to our first #StarTrek thumb war on @salontrek.com this Thursday. (And yes, the first one for the show called #StarTrek. No bloody TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT, DSC, LD, PGY, PIC, SNW, or SA). 🖖
