#Stoichiometry
Yay! Stoichiometry!

Wrong, for a number of reasons, some of which (criticality) are addressed in the comments.

Let's do some stoichiometry!

Can we predict the stoichiometry of proteins in a complex from their sequences - fast and accurately?

Congratulations to the #ECCB2026 🧬 proceedings paper award 🎉 @daniil-litvinov.bsky.social @ninjani.bsky.social @cellarchlab.com

Thrilled to share our new #stoichiometry paper on the environmental correlates of plant and animal stoichiometry. This was a fantastic collaborative work supported by #idiv www.nature.com/articles/s41...
Nitrogen deposition reveals global patterns in plant and animal stoichiometry - Nature Communications
Organisms vary in their nitrogen and phosphorus content, shaping ecological and evolutionary processes. This study shows that nitrogen deposition is a consistent global factor associated with plant an...

also man i kind of miss stoichiometry. balancing equations was easy and satisfying and provided an illusion of productivity. wish i’d been better at orgo; i always *wanted* to like chemistry

My baby turned 23 today.
She spent it teaching stoichiometry to undergrads.

I wish I was a chemist so I could use the term stoichiometry more often.

We hope this dataset will be useful to research on #biogeochemistry, #functionalecology, #stoichiometry and beyond!
Great data resource released! Many thanks to @ecolgonzalez.bsky.social & all the people involved and particularly for the commitment with #OpenScience 💚
I’m thrilled to finally share our new dataset paper-years in the making! This has been an incredible rewarding project, and it was a true pleasure to work with such an amazing team of researchers. Huge thanks to supported by @idiv for the support www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Stoichiometry would be a lot more fun if I could talk about giganoethers.

i don't say the word stoichiometry in the doc because i know these bitches haven't taken chem

Basic chemistry feels like something that ought to be able to be taught in gradeschool. Stoichiometry is all integer math, so is the periodic table. I don't know why we wait so long.

Happy #nerdytshirtfriday. I really wish my students would ask me about stoichiometry.

They really know how to mix the drinks. I mean, it takes a little longer, but they get the stoichiometry right, at least.

You ever just wake up and think, stoichiometry. Yeah, me neither.

An often overlooked red flag in a chemist is if they use literature procedures and balances to run reactions.

Traditional chemists are taught stoichiometry from childhood, honing their chemical intuition to gauge the amount of reagent necessary.

stoichiometry is how you figure out how stoic you are
i am turning off replies such that you should not commit blasphemy in my mentions

Stoichiometry is the calculations for chemical balance. What I'm looking at here is mass balance, and the way this uranium is discussed.

Iran's enriched uranium is in the form of uranium hexafluoride, UF6, the gas that centrifuges must use. (That 6 should be a subscript.)

Chemists should start adopting medical lingo: "idiopathic yield loss", "symptomatic stoichiometry mismatch"
My medical training hot take is also that words like “syndrome” and “idiopathic” help doctors not have to say “I don’t know.”

Because “I don’t know” is on a list of things doctors are Not Supposed to Say. People come to them for answers, there’s a lot of pressure to feel like they have those.
A thing I think about sometimes is how “syndrome” is the shrug emoji of medicine. 🧪

IBS: gets diarrhea or constipated sometimes 🤷‍♀️

POTS: heart just goes all wonky sometimes 🤷

Just because we can describe it doesn’t mean we have any clue at all what’s going on.
