My post on X to Tiab:
You and yours helped elect Traitor Trump. Now you get his version of "from the river to the sea". Don't expect any sympathy from DEMOCRATS who fully supported ALL DEMOCRATS, while you played a "Fool Around" protest game. Welcome to the "Find Out" phase. This genocide is on YOU.

Could we all agree to put the study design in the title?
Thanks - an anonymous tiab screener.

Your annual #medlibs Halloween reminder that "Chocolate"[Mesh] has only been in use since 2017. (OK, to be fair previous indexing is "Cacao"[Mesh] 1963-2016, but STILL.)
Also, "Spirit Possession"[Mesh] is a thing, with only 28 results in PubMed, "Spirit Possession"[tiab] gets 144 results.

There's been a recent explosion in shoddy, cookie-cutter analysis of large, widely-available public health datasets (think NHANES, the UK Biobank, FAERS, etc). Matt Spick and I offer some advice in our new Viewpoint in European Science Editing:

Not yet on EDS but in the works. Should work on MEDLINE, CINAHL, APA, Academic Search, Health Business, and SPORTDiscus 📚 #TIAB

I think you might also enjoy "PRISMA compliant"[tiab:~2]

Oh no! #PubMed is giving an error for anything tagged [tiab] #medlibs Just perfect for a Monday.

And yes I tried many, many things before panicking (and writing the help desk). [tw] works, [all] works, [mh] and other tags seem okay - [tiab] is borked, even if you try it through search builder.

I had been using [tiab:~1] and [tiab:~2] as hacks for finding phrases, now PubMed tells me that's ignored and not allowed.

Probably depends on devices specific to interventions/procedures (ex. stents), but some ideas: “device removal/methods” [mh], “foreign-body migration” [mh], (“device” [tiab] AND (entrapt*” [tiab] OR “dislodg*”))

Is it common knowledge that Embase uses different proximity search rules than other platforms? 🫣

These give the same results (max 2-word gap):
— PubMed: "term1 term2"[tiab:~2]
— WoS: term1 NEAR/2 term2
— Scopus: term1 W/2 term2

But in Embase: term1 NEAR/3 term2 ⚠️
