Miles Maitland & The Tenth Doctor in "Rabbit Run" by TiggetyBoo. Set in the Good Omens AU. The art shows the TARDIS flying through space, dipping to the left. The Doctor stands up against the thin edge of a closed TARDIS door as Miles falls into him after leaning against the open door. Doc looks shocked and Miles looks flirty, holding onto his suit lapel as their hips make contact.

Sharecropper's cabin and sharecropper's wife. Ten miles south of Jackson, Mississippi

#tenmiles #jackson #mississippi #american #undefined #photography #dorothealange

https://www.loc.gov/pictures/item/2017770121/

The image is a black and white photograph depicting an individual standing in front of what appears to be a dilapidated wooden cabin. The structure has weathered shingles, some of which have been stripped away or are missing entirely, revealing the underlying wood planks.

In the foreground, tall grasses sway gently around the base where the person stands. This figure is wearing traditional clothing that suggests historical context— likely indicative of rural American life in past decades. The attire includes a long dress and a wide-brimmed hat, commonly associated with protection from the sun—a necessity for those engaged in outdoor labor.

The individual's right hand seems to be holding something, which could potentially indicate work-related activity or preparation for it. Their stance is relaxed yet watchful, suggesting familiarity with their environment but also an awareness of being observed by a photographer capturing this moment.

In the background, more wooden structures and possibly farming equipment can be discerned—indicating that agriculture likely forms part of the livelihood associated with the cabin's inhabitants. The overall setting conveys a sense of rural hardship or isolation typical of early American life in certain regions such as Mississippi, aligning with historical accounts describing sharecropping communities.

The photograph exudes an aura of quiet dignity and resilience, encapsulating the spir [...]

Untitled photo, possibly related to: Western Pacific line runs through unclaimed desert of northern Oregon. Ten miles from railroad station at Irrigon. Morrow County, Oregon

#westernpacific #oregon #tenmiles #irrigon #morrowcounty #undefined […]

[Original post on mastodon.ozioso.online]

The image depicts a view of two parallel railroad tracks stretching into the distance across what appears to be an arid, rural landscape. The tracks converge towards a vanishing point in the middle-ground, suggesting depth and openness within this seemingly empty area. Vegetation is sparse with small bushes or shrubs dotting the terrain on either side of the railway lines. Above, there are several utility poles standing at regular intervals parallel to the rails, indicating possible electrical infrastructure supporting nearby communities.

The photograph's black-and-white nature gives it a timeless quality and emphasizes contrasts between light and shadow, highlighting textures such as gravel near the tracks and rough ground cover in the surrounding desert-like expanse. The sky is overcast with no visible clouds, suggesting an arid climate that might be prone to dry weather conditions.

Text on top of the image reads "3-Portland," possibly indicating a location or context associated with this scene. The photo's grayscale tones convey a historical feel and may reflect older photographic techniques prevalent in early 20th-century documentation practices.

This landscape is likely part of rural Oregon, as suggested by an accompanying description mentioning Western Pacific line tracks running through northern Oregon. This region experiences sparse population density, which al [...]

Grading potatoes, preparing for shipment, cold, rainy morning, end of harvesting season. Potatoes have been stored in this grower's cellar. Ten miles south of Merrill, Klamath County, Oregon

#tenmiles #merrill #klamathcounty #oregon #undefined […]

[Original post on mastodon.ozioso.online]

The image depicts a group of workers engaged in the process of grading and preparing potatoes for shipment. The setting appears to be an agricultural facility, likely situated near Merrill, Klamath County, Oregon during late autumn or early winter based on environmental clues such as cold temperatures indicated by attire like hats, coats, and boots worn by individuals. It is a black-and-white photograph that evokes the historical context of labor-intensive farming practices from past decades.

The structure in which these workers are situated resembles a barn with wooden planks making up its walls. The interior space has an open entryway where some potatoes can be seen inside. On one side, there's equipment used for handling and weighing potatoes; this includes a scale and various sacks labeled as "Potatoes." The presence of multiple people suggests that it is likely a collaborative effort involving several individuals.

This particular scene highlights the meticulous nature involved in potato grading—a process crucial to ensuring product quality before distribution. It reflects on societal reliance upon agriculture during historical periods, especially for laborers who often worked under challenging conditions with little mechanization available at such times. The overall atmosphere captured by this image suggests a narrative of perseverance and diligence amidst hard-ear [...]

[Original post on mastodon.ozioso.online]

This black and white photo depicts a group of men at what appears to be the end of a harvest season. They are standing beside an open truck filled with sacks, likely containing potatoes or another type of produce given their rural setting suggested by the wooden barn-like structure in the background. The man on the right is holding up a bag labeled "Klamath", possibly indicating the location as Klamath County, Oregon. He stands amidst other men who are either organizing bags for shipment or sorting through them; several wear hats and one has what seems to be overalls typical of farm workers' attire from an earlier era.

The environment suggests it's a cold morning given the visible breaths in front of some individuals which hints at chilly weather conditions. The ground is muddy, suggesting recent rain which could have contributed to the moisture seen on surfaces such as potatoes or freshly harvested crops. Some men are smoking cigarettes while others focus intently on their tasks.

The photo has been tagged with several identifiers including "Untitled", and references related to potato grading from Oregon suggests that this scene might be indicative of a routine process in farming communities, particularly during times when produce is being sorted for market distribution after the harvest season. The presence of potatoes indicates an agricultural setting likely centered [...]

[Original post on mastodon.ozioso.online]

This black and white photograph captures a scene from what appears to be the end of a potato harvesting season. Ten individuals are gathered outside an open wooden barn, with some engaging in various activities related to handling potatoes.

In the foreground, several men stand near crates filled with sacks labeled "Chelan," suggesting these might contain recently harvested potatoes. One man is holding a sack and another has his hand on a crate's edge as if examining its contents or preparing for transport. A large weighing scale indicates that potatoes are being weighed before loading into transportation.

The individuals wear hats, coats, and work clothing typical of early to mid-20th century agricultural laborers in cold conditions. Their expressions range from focused on their tasks to casual conversation with one another. In the background, stacks of sacks and loose potatoes indicate a storage or processing area for potato preparation before shipment.

This image is associated with Dorothea Lange's work during her documentation of American life as part of the Farm Security Administration (FSA), particularly in agricultural settings like those found across rural America. The photograph likely represents one such setting, capturing daily operations and labor conditions prevalent at that time.
