The difference between fan cons and tradeshows is that the badge flair at tradeshows is really quite useless for anyone not wanting to ““connect”” on “LinkedIn.io” or whatever, whereas I can definitely make use of these at my next Esri User Conference or CES.

I'm already seeing, as I book meetings for tradeshows, that international folks who usually show up every year are just not wanting to come to the US. And frankly, do they need to anymore? We are really speed running irrelevance over here. It's very strange to watch it play out in real time.

Just moving display cabinets around and had to stop for a minute to soak up our lovely models. We always get such great feedback about sculpts and paint at tradeshows, it's easy to forget just how lucky we are with all of these sometimes.

Back in the day I would get lists of trade show vendors and contact likely prospects well before the show. Partly to see if they need a hand with anything, also (if I planned to attend) to set up a meeting. #FreelanceFriends

Another day closer to getting @badsquiddogames.bsky.social finished with the office move. Lots of unpacking, blister-packed stock onto racks, installation of A DESK and even time to do an Ikea run for meatballs and office essentials. Including a new Fenris cash till for use at tradeshows.
