Typora使わなくなるかって言ったらそうじゃないけど、「Vaultを作らなくてもすぐ使える手軽さ」ではもうObsidianも同じになったのか。

I remain convinced that the true route to sanity & happiness in the digital world is to curate your own software stack and interact minimally with enterprise tools
Some things i use and love are Kagi (search), Typora (writing), Zotero (bibliography), Fastmail and Hey (email), quarto (doc rendering)

Increasingly feels like the fluid nature of software is more a hellish trap than a feature

Why, why, WHY @adobe.com would you add such a useless and annoying thing to Acrobat? Who the H wants to share that text via whatsapp?
Has anybody figured out how to disable this? My search only showed ppl are annoyed with it and a pseudofix for Mac.

looks cool - I definitely like the more minimalist toolset that nicer composition tools have relative to Word. typora is like that too!

Yea ours have all been that way since 2020 or so, it's so nice for scientific writing. And yep Typora is just prettier to work in for composing imo. I have some custom keyboard shortcuts for swapping to Positron to knit, and back to Typora to type

my last few papers i've written in Quarto editing in RStudio/Positron. is Typora just to have something nicer than an IDE to type in? i'm interested but not sure if i'd work there if i have to keep switching to Positron to render

哎感觉用熟了发现scrivener买了之后可以将市面上一切写作软件全部删了，但这玩意的问题就在于没做引导上手难度巨高而且本地化做的稀烂……社媒真的没东西发了感觉我都可以做个scrivener博主……其实这玩意用习惯了好用程度不亚于十五年前画画学会了用photoshop（但复杂度也差不多），现在开始后悔为什么我花了那么多钱用写拉松买wps会员用印象笔记会员用ulysses用inspire买typora而现在才开始用scrivener……
