Yeah I've switched from Outdoor Active (was originally Viewranger) to Komoot now they have the OS Map layer. I dont trust OpenStreetMap based planners to have rights of way properly categorized

I used to use Viewranger, until it was taken over by Outdooractive.
You could give that a try.

I've stuck with Outdoor Active since the loss of Viewranger for downloading, following and recording routes. With Viewranger I had most mapping stored on my phone whereas here you have to download it or it won't show in poor data areas. Seems to work. Will be interesting to see how you find it.

I use it for route planning in areas I don't know, and has been pretty good with mostly off road or low traffic routes. Paid for worldwide maps as a one of fee, not the subscription. Chances are I'll loose that same as the stuff I lost when ViewRanger became OutdoorActive.
