14x is not a rounding error. It's the difference between cutting a campaign and scaling it. Last-click alone is the wrong yardstick for video and awareness campaigns.

The fact that my day job has been turned upside-down is just so deeply uncorrelated to this other fact that Google results suck in new and hilarious ways, I have trouble even processing the dichotomy, or that anyone is out there using search results as a yardstick for the technology.

im still on the fence about taking him seriously. i set up a litmus test, to use his treatment of mathematics and logic, using metalogic and metamathematics as my yardstick. if what he's saying at the periphery of formalism tracks as either a formal or transcendental argument, I can buy it

They’re well above #Shadowhunters and #Malec numbers, which is my only English-language yardstick show.

Hmm, not a bad yardstick.

I’m uncomfortable with religions that hold up suffering as a yardstick for one’s purity and worth. I prefer life-affirming spiritualities cause I’m depressed enough as it is.

Five Takeaways From YSE Experts at Climate Week NYC
An economic yardstick that counts the goals a country scores but not the ones it gives up. News coverage that gives climate change just over half of 1% of its attention. Families who decide to stay again and again before climate impacts force them to move. Yale School of the Environment faculty explored these ideas and more at Yale @ Climate Week NYC, hosted by Yale Planetary Solutions at the Yale Club on Sept. 22. Across panels on climate adaptation, natural resource economics, AI, climate migration, and urban wildlife, they challenged conventional wisdom and offered practical paths forward. Here are five takeaways. 1. Adaptation is less polarizing than cutting carbon emissions, and that opens a door. For decades, the fight over cutting emissions has split Americans along party lines. Preparing for the floods, fires, and heat waves already arriving is a different story. Jennifer Carman, director of Survey Strategy at the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication (YPCCC), shared research on that divide during. “From Risk Awareness to Real-World Action: Aligning Climate Adaptation Policy with Public Demand.” Her team tested whether framing adaptation policies around “climate change” instead of “extreme weather” changed public support. Naming climate change cost some Republican...

The racist goalposts. First they were foreign agents and now their Britishness must be qualified according to a Nazi-esque yardstick.

Handed a passport? He must be thinking of the king's father. It's a sad statement on the failure of critical thinking that Lowe etc. have a following for 11k likes.

I can think of a few. Could be to muddy the waters. If they're thinking about another IP, they don't just want to ask about just that one. A few extra well known IPs to round out the list is useful. It's also a useful yardstick for the IPs they're actually asking about. But this is all speculation.

#MissKitty is changing the game. She's not alone, but she is not playing for acknowledgment or to get on somebody's team. She is playing to change the world for the better and nothing else. I have always had what I needed. I'm here, right? I mean measuring against #mortality. The yardstick? LOL

as to well-crafted -- I mean, it depends on your yardstick. it's certainly successful. I very rarely listen to it, because when I do, it seldom touches any of my "this is good and interesting work" buttons. I don't hear what you hear in it.

from one system to another, but that's a decent yardstick to start with.

That's why you have to put a bit of effort into planning mega-stunts ahead of time - because you need to be able to foreshadow them, and set things up so that the PCs have a chance to try them out.

I counted 8 major studios, which I'm just using as a basic yardstick.

obvious bias but my wife is fucking scary. I have seen her demolish like level 308 DPS as a healer and at times somehow successfully solo contest points. she has zero interest in Competitive, though so I don't have a proper yardstick

It's surprising and a shame that your yardstick isn't the standard measurement... 'Cause it's good and accurate.

It’s mind-boggling to me how this is even a discussion.

Maybe it’s because I was taught to respect people and listen when they said “no?” Or because I treat others the way I would want to be treated?

Seems like basic common sense and human decency to me. But that’s judging them with my yardstick.

given that in many countries medical care is cash up front, and most poor people simply do without, not sure that bankruptcy is the right yardstick, that works only for the wealthy peer group like the EU where, absolutely, medical care appears to be much cheaper and of similar quality

Recalled vote is a metric that might be used for weighing and/or might be used as a yardstick for other things. But we’re not seeing a raft of legit polls with redder electorates.

Two-thirds of IT vice presidents say their AI projects show measurable results — but only 8 of them thought those results were good enough to interrupt the CEO's vacation. Love this as a yardstick for the AI ROI debate. lotu.cc

Researcher: we're gonna measure literacy amongst kids
Me: I imagine you need a yardstick for this, a set of easily quantifiable texts of increasing difficulty, which we can all agree are either understood or no, to see where readers taper off
Researcher: not so. we're gonna use only one, Bleak House

Awards should never be a yardstick of quality, but with that being said, it really feels like Dale Dickey should've nabbed an Oscar nomination for her emotionally affecting work in Love Song.

An extraordinarily talented performer who can act rings around so many others in the industry.

What’s your source for Canada's growth being the envy of the rest of the G7 countries? I’m pretty sure it was social media & political commentators, not financial institutions nor the government's source which is Stats Canada. One quarter indicating growth is not a reliable yardstick.
