'Zombie fires... were once a rare occurrence in the boreal regions that stretch across the far north through Siberia, Canada and Alaska. But in a rapidly heating world, they are becoming increasingly common. The overwintering burns are small... but they are transforming fires into multi-year events'

As the Arctic and boreal regions are warming, extreme heat is periodically drying them out. That drives massive wildfires, and burns up dried peat. #ResistanceEarth

These fires can smolder for weeks/months releasing carbon. All through winter & into spring ➜ #ZombieFires.

Fires 🔥 that can never be put out, unextinguishable so-called “#zombiefires that disappear and smoulder underground, may now be spreading as a phenomenon beyond the Arctic. This may explain what happened in #PacificPalisades in Los Angeles
Los Angeles officials theorise that a small fire burned its way down tree roots and remained there smouldering even when firefighters on the surface believed that it had been extinguished, only to later break out and grow into an inferno
Was the Pacific Palisades blaze a “zombie fire”?
Fires can linger underground in the Arctic. Might they do the same in California?

Good man - og ja..
