This one is located on the main road through Aberlemno, park at the village hall and there are 3 stones along the road, 2 in the hall (one is a replica) and the Kirk cross is in the Kirk yard about 1/2 a mile away. It's an amazing place

#PictishSymbolStone with cross on 1 side & a depiction of the Battle of Dun Nechtain, in May 685 CE, when Bridei’s Picts defeated the Northumbrians, incl. killing King Ecgfrith.

Also an intriguing new stone, excavated recently, with multiple #Pictish symbols.

I’m delighted to have gotten my first big tattoo yesterday from Hamish of Pictavia Leather! It’s an oak tree stump with sprouting branches and acorns, based on the Clan MacEwan badge. The green spirals are from the Aberlemno Stone.

A carved stone slab from Aberlemno, Scotland. The fighting depicted on this slab from Aberlemno probably represents the Battle of Nechtansmere in AD 685 - in which the Picts defeated the Anglo-Saxons and expelled them from their land.
