virtually *all* depictions of adoption in mainstream popular culture are given from the point of view of adopters, cater to adopters, flatter adopters, vindicate adopters. These depictions do not complement #adopteevoices, they erase them.
because #adoption follows me literally whenever I go, I was at a party yesterday and ended up talking about it with people I had just met (not entirely my fault!) and heard one of them say that some recent magazine pieces about adoption made them understand that no one ever listens to adoptees.

Adoptees should have the right to decided if they want to remain adopted or annul their adoption when they are adults!

The thing that makes secondary rejection after 20 years of reunion hurt the most is that I’m still invested in the idea that we can be family again. 🥚 #AdopteeVoices #AdopteeRightsAreHumanRights

The best thing about National Adoption Awareness Month is that some agencies run sales.

But sure, keep saying that adoption isn’t “buying babies”
