These people are idiots and that map is completely wrong. Those are not Flock cameras, they are standard ALPR cameras, probably used in congestion charging / traffic control. These kind of cameras are *good* for transit, pedestrians, cyclists and other vulnerable road users.

Time to strike hard and fast on tech

Democrats who talked a good game against data centers on the campaign trail will cozy right up to Big Tech giants once they are in power unless we demand good policy and fight for it

✅ Nationwide ALPR ban
✅ Privacy legislation
✅ Revive antitrust

it's an ALPR that's not flock and that's restricted to bus lane enforcement, with strict data retention policy mandating records get destroyed after fines are adjudicated.

isn't any traffic enforcement camera an ALPR these days? They all use OCR. It's not a guy in a room checking photos all day.

As I said ALPR cameras are complete different than traffic enforcement cameras.
November 3, 2026 at 3:20 PM
In fact flock doesn’t even make speed cameras. They make ALPR cameras designed to create searchable records for criminal investigations not to enforce traffic laws. I think people are confusing the two.
Regulated ALPR systems have a use in criminal investigations to reduce dangerous police chases.

add the demolition of the flock/axon/etc. ALPR camera surveillance network that popped up over the last 2 years as well
Celebrate — then hold everyones ass to flames. All dems combined. If they don’t prosecute all these assholes to the fullest, abolish ICE, rid us of data centers/AI, stop funding Israel, and protect Trans and Black lives then what is even the point. No backsliding. No Fettermans or Synemas allowed.
November 4, 2026 at 12:15 PM
Wait so is it just lying about that being an ALPR? Or are you just saying that it includes ALPRs other than Flock, cuz that seems fine to me. The important thing is distinguishing between ALPRs and cameras that just do speed/red light/bus lane enforcement, not who owns each ALPR.
