TBH I don't know how anyone can buy Boar's Head anything (and for quite a while) at this point.

Also dont buy pre-grated aged cheese, its not supposed to be consumed that way and the extra processing + increased surface area touching who knows what in a facility just increases risk if contamination. Buy a wedge or SMALL wheel. (Obviously not from Ambriola)

To be strictly accurate re: Boar’s Head on this one, it doesn’t look like it happened in their facility - it was one of their suppliers, a supplier (Ambriola) that several other brands also use, and which is also sold directly to consumers.

The initial recall was announced on November 21, 2025 and included multiple cheese products from the Ambriola Company, who own Ambriola, Locatelli, Member's Mark, Pinna, and Boar's Head.
🚨FDA upgraded a cheese recall to Class I (highest risk) over Listeria which can cause severe illness, miscarriage, or more rarely death- especially for pregnant people, elderly, or immunocompromised. Discard/return affected products.

Can't help but wonder if cuts to USDA inspectors played a role? 🤔

Also, the FDA posted an updated warning about peccorino-romano cheese in some 20 states, warning that of the risk of listeria contamination. The manufacturer, New Jersey's Ambriola, is wholly onboard with the recall. Listeria has a high fatality rate so take note.
