Hoping for a peaceful and productive Days Of Thunder 2 set, Anne Hathaway posted her admiration of Digger on Letterboxd.

Anne Hathaway deu 10/10 a 'Digger' no Letterboxd, e Mandy Patinkin pediu para o público correr ao cinema. O filme estreou com apenas US$ 20 milhões.

Anne Hathaway has publicly defended Tom Cruise's film 'Digger' following a wave of negative reviews, urging audiences to form their own opinions after the satirical black comedy received scathing criticism from critics. The film, co-written and directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu, follows oil tycoon Digger Rockwell (played by Cruise) as he attempts to address an environmental disaster he inadvertently caused. Despite a $160 million production budget, the film struggled at the box office, earning only $20 million during its opening weekend, which has positioned it as one of Hollywood's most significant financial flops. However, the movie has garnered a positive reception from audiences, with a 73% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on over 1,000 reviews. Hathaway shared her enthusiastic endorsement on Letterboxd, describing the film as 'smart and trippy and aggressive and funny and ambitious,' and awarding it a perfect 10/10. She encouraged viewers to watch it for themselves, stating it was 'worth making the time to see and decide for yourself what you make of it.' The film's defenders include Homeland actor Mandy Patinkin, who called it 'one of the greatest pieces of film I have ever seen in my entire life' and criticized critics for 'slamming' the movie. Patinkin suggested those who disliked it should 'get a brain scan' or rewatch the film. Meanwhile, Hathaway's own film 'Verity,' adapted from Colleen Hoover's novel, has recently been released, following a psychological thriller plot involving a writer and a mysterious author. The film 'Digger' is now winding down its theatrical run after just one week, with The Odyssey set to return to screens from October 9, 2026. Despite the critical and commercial challenges, the strong audience support suggests a potential shift in perception as viewers engage with the film's bold narrative and thematic depth.
