Basically, it's been seeming more and more likely that I have axial spondyloarthritis, which is an autoimmune disease that messes up your back, among other things.
I tested positive for HLA-B27, which is a gene that many people with axial spondyloarthritis have.

Our recent work on sex differences in treatment discontinuation in axSpA. @jyazdanymd.bsky.social @rheumcat.bsky.social @nasingh.bsky.social
RISE registry data were analyzed for trends in medication discontinuation by sex among patients with axSpA. Women with axSpA had a 24% & 25% higher risk of discontinuing TNFi & IL-17i than men with axSpA, but no sex differences were found for JAKi

One the best reviews of #AxSpA I’ve seen in a long while. Good paper by Drs. Mohamed Bittar and Atul Deodhar. Very useful for trainees or APPs new to #Rheumatology or to PCPs that need a refresher

An international study evaluated progression from nonradiographic to radiographic axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) in recently diagnosed patients and found 16% of patients progressed to radiographic axSpA within 5 years. Mean time to progression was 2.4 years
